From September 12 to 15, 2026, the Biblical Research Institute, together with other scholars from Andrews University and the White Estate, conducted a well-attended international Bible conference for all Baltic countries (Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania). The conference was held at the Seventh-day Adventist Union headquarters and main church in Riga, the capital of Latvia.

Church elders and church members were invited to attend the first two days, and pastors from all three countries attended the last two days. Among other topics, the conference focused on issues related to the Trinity, last generation theology, biblical hermeneutics, the significance of the resurrection for our theology, the use of AI and modern technology, and Ellen G. White’s understanding of God and our response to critics. The BRI also gifted a complimentary copy of the Handbook of Seventh-day Adventist Theology to every pastor in attendance. Between presentations, there was time for BRI members to also engage in small group discussions with pastors from all three countries. In these smaller circles it was possible to interact with the pastors on a deeper personal level. Topics ranged from challenges they face in their ministry, last generation theology, Ellen G. White and her authority, to specific questions about prophetic interpretation and difficult-to-understand Bible passages.

Conferences like these are unique opportunities to explore important theological questions, strengthen Adventist identity, and foster theological unity.
